Restoration Fund for Silent Film Projects
About this campaign
Donations will go to access, restore and preserve over 80 Paramount silent productions, as authorized by The Paramount Archive.
All funds go to cover final color, music and production of distribution elements.
All costs for scanning, research, and digital restoration are provided outside of this campaign.
Donations are fully tax deductible.
The Silent Film Preserve is shepherded by Robert Harris and James Mockoski, who together have over 60 years experience in restoring motion pictures.
The challenge is to access, restore and preserve films, many via Nitrate prints and negatives before they are deteriorated.
Donors will receive a thank you on the restored elements.
Major gifts - $5,000 or more - will receive a pre-credit full screen acknowledgement.
Along with geographic separation of final digital elements, copies will be donated to archives for futher protection and use in research and education.
