A Campaign to Support Initiatives to Educate Clinicians & Improve Access to Care for PANS/PANDAS in Ireland

IMPROVING CARE FOR PANS/PANDAS PATIENTS IN IRELAND:
SUPPORTING THE ATTENDANCE OF A CLINICIAN FOR TWO DAYS OF EUROPEAN EXPERT WORK SESSIONS, A JOINT WORK SESSION OF U.S. AND EUROPEAN EXPERTS, AND ATTENDANCE AT THE 2024 TAMF SYMPOSIUM
The inital goal of this campaign is to raise the funds necessary to send a clinician from Ireland to attend The 2024 Alex Manfull Fund Symposium with members of the EXPAND Scientific and Medical Advisory Board (SMAB). Members of the EXPAND SMAB volunteer their time and expertise on behalf of EXPAND, The European Immuno-neuropsychiatric Association. Ireland is a member of EXPAND.
The full program for the Europeans includes two days of work sessions prior to the symposium. On Day #1, they will tour the Neuroimmune Psychiatric Disorders (NIPD) Expert Center at Dartmouth. They will also spend time for the rest of that day and Day #2 discussing topics related to challenges faced in Europe caring for PANS/PANDAS patients. On the last day of the full program, the European experts will join with U.S. experts to discuss shared concerns and discuss future goals.
The morning session of the The Alex Manfull Fund Symposium will focus on recognizing and treating PANS/PANDAS (to be led by Jennifer Frankovich, Juliette Madan, Richard Morse, Mark Pasternak and Beth Latimer). The afternoon session will focus on research advancements in understanding PANS/PANDAS, and insights which advance treatment decisions. This includes "lightning rounds" where clinicians will provide 10-minute presentations on current research.
