MISSION
The Altadena Soils Relief Fund provides financial assistance to underinsured residents to remediate their soils, reduce exposure to known contaminants, and safely begin the long process of recovery.
VISION
The Altadena Soils Relief Fund creates a community where every fire‑impacted resident has access to soil remediation through expanded access to treatment. The project strengthens public health protections, reduces environmental disparities, and supports a safer, more resilient rebuilding process for the entire community.
CURRENT REQUEST FOR SUPPORT
We are seeking support to build our capacity to build a skilled Altadena workforce ready to tackle the contamination left in the wake of the Eaton Fire. The Altadena Soils Relief Fund is asking the community to help raise funds to pay for our early career soil technicians in receiving Soil Microscopy Certification via the Soil Food Web School-each Certification costs $9000 per participant. This skilled workforce will enable us to serve our 30 compost hubs, testing, and service to 1000's of Altadena homes for years to come.
This training will help our team grow and be able to lead others in the proven methods of soil treatment, composting, soils sampling, microscopy, bioremediation, and land stewardship. Your support will help us to serve fire‑impacted communities and expand regional capacity for healthy soils work, and which can be a replicable model for post-urban-wildland fire events.
We can’t build our team expertise without your impactful donation! Give one time at any amount, or monthly! For more information about the Altadena Soils Relief Fund, please visit: www.altadenasoilsrelieffund.org
