The Story
Altera Circular Systems is an early-stage initiative with a clear long-term aim: developing a pathway to convert unused textiles into lumber-like building material that could support housing and community infrastructure over time.

Grounded in active research: Altera Circular Systems is currently connected to an active collaboration with UW–Eau Claire running July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, with research support spanning Materials Science and Business Management. This partnership strengthens both the technical and real-world implementation side—how innovation can move from concept to something communities can actually adopt.

What the R&D is working toward: affordable, textile-derived building material (lumber-like components) that does not compromise essentials like structural integrity, flexibility, sturdiness, and health/safety. Because this is the birth of the program, we’re being transparent: we are still in the beginning stages—building organizational infrastructure and testing feasibility while we pursue partners, grants, and fiscal sponsorship to keep the pathway moving forward responsibly.
