The Black Heritage Trail Lowcountry preserves and celebrates the stories, struggles, and triumphs of Black communities across the region. Through education, community engagement, and powerful historical storytelling, the Trail illuminates a legacy that shaped the Lowcountry and continues to inspire future generations.
As the cultural arm of Living Free, the Trail uses history as a catalyst for change. By connecting people to the strength, resilience, and wisdom found in our past, Living Free advances a movement focused on mindset transformation, family strength, personal responsibility, and community uplift. The stories we preserve are not just history — they are tools that help individuals and families build a stronger future.
Black Heritage Trail Lowcountry is a campaign of LIVING FREE, which operates under the fiscal sponsorship of People In Partnership, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All charitable contributions must be made payable to “People In Partnership” and are tax‑deductible to the extent allowed by law.
