In 2027, Clarion Alley Mural Project will celebrate 35 years of community-powered public art. We’re building toward this milestone with 35 for 35, a grassroots fundraising campaign rooted in the people who have made Clarion Alley possible.
CAMP was established in 1992 by a volunteer collective of six residents and artists inspired by Balmy Alley’s murals and their expression of outrage over human rights and political abuses in Central America. Since then, Clarion Alley has grown into a community, a public space, and an organizing force where artists can speak openly, challenge injustice, celebrate culture, preserve history, and make their voices visible in public space.
CAMP’s mission is to support and produce socially engaged and aesthetically innovative public art, locally and globally, as a grassroots, community-directed organization based in San Francisco’s Mission District. We use public art to support social, economic, racial, and environmental justice through storytelling, dialogue, and collective expression.
For more than three decades, artists, neighbors, volunteers, supporters, and communities have continued to show up for CAMP.
As we build toward our 35th anniversary, we're asking 1,000 people to give $35.
1,000 supporters × $35 = $35,000
Our goal is to raise $35,000 to support the continued work of Clarion Alley Mural Project, including new and existing murals, artist opportunities, community and youth programming, public events, and the ongoing care of Clarion Alley.
This campaign is about more than reaching a dollar amount. It’s about recognizing the people who have helped make CAMP what it is and bringing that community together to sustain the work for the years ahead.
Every bit of support matters. A donation, a share, or simply telling someone about this campaign helps us keep Clarion Alley accessible and rooted in community, and protects it as a space where people can speak freely, tell their stories, and make their voices heard.
In community,
