David Herrera Performance Company is dedicated to transforming modern dance through equity-driven programming that highlights diverse cultures and communities often overlooked in traditional settings. Our programs drive career growth from emerging administrators and choreographers to mid-career administrative support.
We believe art should reflect and include the diversity of its surrounding communities in casting, audience outreach, and representation. Dance is most influential when it is accessible, affordable, and relatable to all communities.
DHPCo has created a living network of dynamic Latinx dance leaders and innovators across the nation with the Latinx Hispanic Dancers United program. Currently we have 128 active members and over 550+ Instagram followers.
David Herrera Performance Company's LatinXtensions is the only comprehensive culturally centered Latinx mentorship and networking program in the United States. The 12-month program advises emerging Latinx dance artists in developing their professional artistic practice.
In 2025, LatinXtensions marks its 6th anniversary and offers a San Francisco/Bay Area cohort and a National cohort. To date, LatinXtensions has awarded 32 mentorships.
