Current project:
Run all the way home is a dance between a parent, child, and grandchild, loosely framed by an increasingly personal retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Partnering dance with snippets of text, music, and puppetry, this piece explores the stories we tell ourselves and our children to make sense of a world that isn’t what we expected it to be. I am especially interested in the context of immigrants and their children growing up in very different circumstances, a reality reflective of our own lives. This is a piece about the grief of moving beyond childish certainty in happy endings, and the comfort and joy we find in each other anyways.
