Kesher HaMayim has been sharing sacred Jewish music as an all-volunteer effort since 2023. We've hosted nearly 20 events and brought 100+ people together for music, prayer, listening, learning, and community-building. Thank you to everyone who has helped us create some very special moments of music and connection since our launch!
In the fall, we decided to pause on hosting Shabbat events because, as a group of volunteers, we needed to come up with a simpler and more sustainable approach to gathering. After a few months of reflection, we were getting ready to share our next steps: a monthly Rosh Chodesh song circle starting in April. Unfortunately, before we could finalize and announce our plans, Ariel received an early stage breast cancer diagnosis and will begin cancer treatment in April instead. Her prognosis is excellent, but our pause will last longer than we expected.
Although we're not sure exactly what the timeline of treatment and recovery will require, we look forward to getting back to singing together as soon as we can. We'll use your contributions to work towards creating a sustainable sacred music community so that we may continue gathering in devotion and prayer. Your support will help us cover our room rental costs, develop digital tools to communicate about what we're up to, and pay for the other basic expenses of hosting public events.
