Set in Victorian England, Goblin Market follows the free-spirited Laura and the reserved Lizzie: a lady and her handmaid, whose fates are uneasily entwined by temptation and a shared, unspoken secret. Their delicate balance is plunged into turmoil when Laura is seduced into the woods by mysterious creatures. Tempted by their magical fruit, Laura indulges—only to succumb to a deadly curse.
To cure her, Lizzie must venture through the rolling hills and tumultuous skies of an isolated English countryside, and cross a magical brook wherein lies something completely unknown on the other side: a dark, forbidden forest where ethereal goblins live freely and deliciously, forcing her to confront the depths of her own desires…
Inspired by Christina Rossetti's 1862 poem of the same name, Goblin Market is about temptation, the consequences of repression, and the terrifying courage it takes to love honestly.
We invite you to cross the brook with us, and we look forward to sharing the fruit we find there.

Pinfire Collective is a group of young filmmakers with a shared passion for artistic storytelling.
Over the course of our nearly ten year friendship, we have worked on each other’s student films, shared scripts and stories, and built a deep creative relationship that has finally culminated in the making of our first short as a collective. This film embodies the essence of what we want to add to this world: lovingly crafted animation that represents women who are vibrant, complex, and real.
We’re honored by your support on our journey to create our very own kind of independent animation studio, built on an intense love of the craft and a desire to push the boundaries of animated storytelling.
Donations are tax deductible via our fiscal sponsor, Entertainment 2 Affect Change, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations go directly towards the making of Goblin Market.
