About this campaign

Boobs aren't always sexy, and Davis's are ruining her life. After they triple in size from birth control, Davis (17) and her best friends begin a rescue mission to convince her mom to let her get a breast reduction.

MISSION STATEMENT
"itty bitty" is an exploration of the wildly insane, emotional journey of teenage girlhood, changing bodies, and learning about one’s autonomy. This film is a love letter to chosen family, female friendship, and coming into your own.

SYNOPSIS
A week after seventeen-year-old Davis begins birth control for the first time, her boobs almost triple in size. After unpacking the trauma with her friends and an unsettling doctor’s appointment, she realizes she’ll do anything to convince her mom to let her get a breast reduction. With the help of her friends, Sydney and Maria, Davis begins a year-long mission to take control of her own body and finds herself confronted with the harsh reality of what it means to be a woman in today’s world. This movie is for anyone who’s dealt with the baggage that comes with having boobs — both literal and metaphorical.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Stories about often overlooked aspects of girlhood are some of the most important to tell. My favorite media revolves around female friendship and chosen family during pivotal moments of growing up. That said, I can count the number of those films and television shows that exist on my fingers and toes and, ones with comedy at their center, on one hand.

I’ve also found that women’s health is an issue that we haven’t quite found a way to talk about in media. It’s something that confuses me, as it’s an enormous factor that shapes us as women and girls. Girlhood and health go hand-in-hand: when we don’t have the media literacy to talk about these issues in popular culture, we find ourselves turning to our community — our female friends — for help. Based on a true story, my goal with this film is to explore the wildly insane emotional journey of teenage girlhood, changing bodies, and learning about one’s autonomy, all with a big grin across your face. This story is both incredibly niche and personal, but my hope is the themes of independence, friendship, coming into your own and community are universal.

I am so excited and feel incredibly lucky to use my directorial debut to tell a story that's literally close to my heart, with some of the most talented people I know. All funds raised for this project will go towards making it the best it can possibly be and providing working conditions that allow our team to feel creative and supported. Thank you so much for your support — I can't wait to have you along for the ride!
