About this campaign

Be the first to say yes to JEWFACE, award-winning storyteller Melissa Center's next short film:

Miri Cantor's life is f*#d. She's single. She's broke. She can't event get hired for Jew: The Musical! Convinced her childhood rhinoplasty is the root of her arrested development, Miri embarks on a reckless mission to reset her life - by attempting to re-break her own nose.

Inspired by Center’s own rhinoplasty at 16, JEWFACE is part a social & cultural reckoning, and part a subversive reclamation of self. This bold dark comedy invites us to consider what is a “Jewish face,” and how does it feel to be Jewish in 2026?

Center will star as Miri and also direct.

Asher Grodman (Ghosts, CBS) is attached and the film will be shot by Boaz Freund, an American Cinematographer "rising star," with films that have screened Tribeca & SXSW.

With production slated for April 2026, your contribution will kickstart our fundraising efforts!

(We plan to launch a public-facing campaign February 10th, 2026 with a goal of $60,000 for production, post-production, and festival submissions.)

We are partnered with E2A to offer tax-deductible status for all INITIAL backers.

Join us in saying YES to Jewish stories & to authentic Jewish women on screen!
