About this campaign

Join us August 21 - 23, 2026 at Common Ground Center in Starksboro for L'Chaim's first weekend-long Shabbaton! You won't want to miss this joyful weekend of swimming, singing, noshing, creating, schvitzing, schmoozing, kibitzing, star-gazing and hanging with 100 of your favorite Green Mountain Jews and Jew-ish friends and family. This is an all ages weekend, with space for prayer of all forms: shabbat singing, communing with nature, swimming in the pond, learning and debating and praying together, plus a raucous, buck wild dance party. Activities will be designed to joyfully welcome babies, elders, and everyone in between!

Common Ground is requesting a deposit to hold our spot, so please register by filling out the below form AND by submitting payment as soon as possible. To account for a variety of household budgets, we are offering a few types of accommodation with various price tiers: cabins and the eco-lodge as well as camping.

All prices below are per person and include lodging, meals, and programming. Whether you are selecting an Eco-Lodge room or cabin, you will have roommates during camp. You can also camp out if that is preferable. You can request a specific roommate below and we will do our best to accommodate you!

All participants must register, including children (infants under 2 do not need to pay if you are bringing their pack + play and they don't need a bed.)

All housing options include meals and programming.

Select an option*:
Eco-Lodge Room - $285/person: The Eco-Lodge sleeps up to 31 overnight guests in eight rooms, most with private bathrooms. The Eco-Lodge is the centerpiece of Common Ground Center's sustainability ethos and was built with wood and stone harvested on campus, local and reclaimed fixtures, and energy efficiencies throughout. The Eco-Lodge is wheelchair accessible.
Cabin - $250/person: Just like summer camp! 21 unique cabins are clustered together in a maple grove about 100 yards from the dining hall, and sleep up to 100 campers or guests. They were designed in collaboration with Yestermorrow Design Build School in Waitsfield, VT, and built with wood from the land. Cabins share a central bathhouse with hot water, electricity, flush toilets, and indoor and outdoor showers. They’re all within a short walk of the bathhouse, but there is a composting toilet for those that are a bit farther away. Cabins are electricity-free and bedding is not provided. Cabins sleep 2-6 each.

Camping - $200/ person: You bring your tent and pitch it. We do need to fill cabins + the Eco-Lodge to be able to afford the space, so if you are ambivalent, please choose one of the above options.

We are hoping to make this event as accessible as possible to everyone in our community, so please email the core team at lchaimvt@gmail.com if you would like to discuss a scholarship or offer a work trade.

We are estimating 75-100 people, and expect space to fill, so please do reserve your spot today!
