Megan Lowe Dances (MLD) was founded in 2013 under the Artistic Direction of Megan Lowe, a multiracial choreographer of Chinese and Irish descent. MLD explores complex identities and experiences with dynamic place-making, playful partner-work, and generative rigor, paying particular attention to stories from AAPI, BIPOC, and mixed-race communities. MLD makes innovative performances for unique indoor and outdoor architectural spaces, shifting perspectives on dance and the environment by testing the laws of physics. MLD also teaches invigorating dance workshops that empower movers to try new things, embrace strengths, grow skill-sets, and build community.
