With each Bless This Brain Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training learners hear real stories, learn how to step into hard conversations, and get practical tools that ignite compassion for those suffering with mental health and substance abuse challenges.

MHFA is an internationally recognized and evidence-based program!

Each 3 year certification is valued around $180 but Bless This Brain's vision is to see all faith communities and faith-based organizations equipped with this knowledge. Because of our generous donors we can offer this course for $35 a person. This fee covers MHFA learning materials and licensing fees.

MHFA TEACHES:

The Mental Health First Aid Action Plan

• Assess for risk of suicide or harm
• Listen nonjudgmentally
• Give reassurance and Information
• Encourage appropriate professional help
• Encourage self-help and other support strategies

Interventions

Learn how to apply the Mental Health First Aid action plan in a variety of situations, including when someone is experiencing:

• Panic attacks
• Suicidal thoughts or behaviors
• Nonsuicidal self-injury
• Acute psychosis (e.g., hallucinations or delusions)
• Overdose or withdrawal from alcohol or drug use
• Reaction to a traumatic event

— through role plays, scenarios, and activities — we make it easier to apply these skills in a real-life situation.
