Feature-length documentary film Petals of a Flower gives an intimate look into the lives of three Ukrainian civilians who risk everything on the Russo-Ukrainian war’s Eastern frontlines.
Olha is a single mother who rescues people caught in the middle of fierce fighting. Andriy is a seasoned war journalist whose wife and son have followed in his footsteps. Arthur is a fire captain stationed in Bakhmut, the site of the war’s worst and most prolonged battle.
Filmed from the onset of the full-scale invasion, the documentary shows the daily struggles, extraordinary bravery, and resilience of three ordinary people as they find meaning, agency and identity in the ravages of war.
