Hi, I’m Pascale Armand. I’m an actor expanding my artistry and stepping into storytelling in a new way. I’m Haitian-American, raised in an immigrant household, and like many artists, I’m starting with what I know.
Roles Reversed is my first short film, centered on something we don’t talk about enough: Parentification - the dynamic in which children take on adult responsibilities because their families need them to. It’s a quiet, normalized reality in many immigrant households in America, with language being the biggest barrier, where kids become translators, problem-solvers, and bridges between worlds, often long before they’re ready.
I know this because I lived it.
Maybe you did, too. Or maybe you know someone who did. These children are everywhere and are showing up for their families in ways that often go unseen and unacknowledged. This film is about honoring them. It’s about shining a light on a deeply human, often overlooked part of the immigrant experience.
We’re building Roles Reversed from the ground up and we need your help to bring it to life.
