All funds raised will be used for the Starstruck Short Film Production Budget. We are currently in pre-production and will shoot mid-November 2026!
More about the project and our plans for the film:
Logline: After a run-in with Allison Williams at a local bar, two friends gradually (and then frantically) iterate themselves right up against the border of delusion.
Distribution and Marketing Strategy: Our marketing and distribution strategy will begin with a targeted film festival run, leveraging festival screenings, filmmaker networking opportunities, and festival-led promotional resources to build awareness and momentum for the film. We will actively engage with festival press teams, participate in Q&As and industry events, and utilize festival social media channels to expand our reach. In parallel, we will pursue coverage through local and regional media outlets, including newspapers, blogs, and arts publications. Once our festival run is complete, we will find a permanent home for Starstruck on a digital platform such as Omeleto, Directors Notes, or NoBudge.
Intended Audience: This film is intended for audiences interested in contemporary culture, media, and the ways celebrity shapes our perceptions and desires. Its exploration of the absurdity of fame will resonate particularly with millennials who came of age in the aughts, when movie stars and tabloid culture dominated popular culture. The film will also speak to Gen Z audiences who have grown up in an era defined by social media influencers and the idea of the “personal brand.” By examining these evolving relationships to fame through a comedic and distinctly female lens, the project aims to spark conversation across generations. Written, directed, produced by, and starring women, the film will also appeal to audiences seeking women-driven stories and support the growing demand for work created by women both on screen and behind the scenes.
