In the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico, a grassroots education initiative has taken root, driven by the determination of local families to offer their children a meaningful, high-quality education in the face of rapidly evolving challenges. While the project emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, its purpose extends beyond that moment—responding to a broader transformation in education shaped by technological change, the rise of AI, and a growing recognition that conventional models are no longer sufficient to prepare children for the future.
Sustained by the commitment and generosity of participating families, the project has covered essential costs such as teachers’ salaries and daily meals. As it prepares for the coming school year, a critical priority has come into focus: equipping educators with the training and tools needed to adapt to this shifting educational landscape, while remaining rooted in the community’s values and context.
At present, the project lacks the resources to support this essential teacher training. Your support would help bridge this gap—strengthening the capacity of educators, deepening the quality of learning, and ensuring that this community-led initiative continues not only to endure, but to evolve and thrive in a changing world.
