About this campaign
The Shelley and Felton White (SFW) Institute equips people most impacted by poverty,
crime, and mass incarceration to build the power to improve their lives. SFW believes that
those who are most impacted by systemic oppression must be central to changing the
system through collective action including organizing, advocacy, education and civic
participation. The SFW recruits, trains, and coaches impacted people to take action by
leveraging pop culture, their lived experience, and interactive role-playing and storytelling
as part of social, policy, and political campaigns. We partner with local allies to develop
community specific strategies that are fueled by the impacted people we train.
