The Paddle it Forward Project is a community-driven non-profit organization committed to uplifting at-risk and underrepresented communities through free, immersive recreational programming and transformative experiences on the unique waterways of the Lake Superior Region.

The Challenge: For many in our community, the barriers to waterways—access, equipment, cost, safety, inclusiveness and instruction—are insurmountable.
Our Solution: Paddle It Forward bridges this gap. By partnering with industry professionals, we provide free immersive recreational programming for at-risk youth, adults, and underrepresented populations that strengthen the participant's water safety knowledge and connection to the natural world.

Mission: To provide at-risk and underrepresented communities with free, professional water-based programming that fosters health, equity, water safety, stewardship and a lifelong connection to the natural world.
Vision: All people, regardless of background and socio-economic status, can have the same safe, educational experiences and life-changing memories while connecting with the natural world and fostering a sense of place within our local watershed.

• Community Wellbeing: To improve the physical, mental, and emotional health of our region by using the water as a space for healing, growth, and connection.
• Equitable Access: To eliminate financial and physical barriers by providing free equipment, high-quality instruction, and immersive programming for those who need it most.
• Water Safety & Education: To equip every participant with fundamental water safety skills, creating a new generation of confident "Water Safety Ambassadors"
• Environmental Advocacy: To foster deep-rooted stewardship by connecting and educating individuals on their local waterways, turning participants into lifelong protectors of our natural resources.
