About this campaign

Thank you for your continued support of "The Harvard 5: a story of love, architecture, and a design revolution"

We are grateful for EVERY donation we receive and appreciate your support!

We have new updates about our successful progress.

It's been almost a year and a half since we premiered the film (after almost 20 years in the making) during Modernism Week in Palm Springs to a sold out audience of 450 people. Since then, "The Harvard 5" has screened close to 150 times in the US, Germany, India, and over 45 times in New Zealand alone!

We continue to receive calls from all over the world from theatre and theatre chains, universities, architecture firms, museums, hotels, and private clubs interested in screening the film. I'm delighted to share this news, but with all these screenings, the costs continue to add up.

Therefore, donations made at this juncture go towards the costs of marketing, distribution, and mastering the film to each theatre or film festival, streamer, or TV channel such as PBS, all which have unique requirements. Please help us continue to distribute this film worldwide.

Our next screening is in NYC at the prestigious National Arts Club on October 6th. Click here to reserve your space!

A note from the Director, Devon Chivvis:

My grandmother, Nina Bremer began photographing modern homes in the late 1940’s –at first it was out of admiration for these avant-garde designs, but within just a few decades, her photographs would memorialize these homes and the history of the powerful modern movement in New Canaan.

Inspired by Nina who was an artist and a true New Canaan “modernist”, I began this documentary almost 20 years ago to carry on this legacy. This film is a work of passion, and an homage to my family as well as the artists and intellectuals, risk takers and friends who made New Canaan modern…

I hope the film will give back both by sharing this never-before-told story on-screen, but also by preserving the work of the architects and designers who launched a design revolution from my hometown of New Canaan, CT.

The Harvard 5 is a fiscally sponsored project of International Documentary Association (EIN: 95-3911227).
