The Last Seder Film Official

About this campaign

We're sharing a project close to our hearts, that is, in many ways, about all of us: the ties that bind, tradition, and the inevitable mischigas of family.

Our latest film, The Last Seder, completed a successful shoot in Los Angeles. Directed by Emmy Award-nominated cinematographer Arlene Nelson and based on Jennifer Maisel’s acclaimed play (produced Off-Broadway by Rosalind Productions in 2012), we are now in post-production, with plans to submit to Sundance and other film festivals.

The stellar cast includes Thora Birch (American Beauty), Barbara Hershey (Hannah and Her Sisters), Jeff Perry (Scandal), and Morgan Saylor (Homeland).

The Last Seder follows the Price daughters as they return to their Long Island childhood home for what their mother, Lily, secretly knows will be their last Passover Seder. With the house being sold, their father’s Alzheimer’s accelerating, and Lily preparing for a new chapter, one hilarious and heartbreaking night forces everything they have never admitted to the surface.

We believe The Last Seder has the potential to become a new holiday classic. It's a universal story about love, loss, and generational renewal, told through a nuanced, deeply human portrait of a Jewish family. At a time of rising antisemitism, we believe there is value in portraying Jewish life not through stereotype or tragedy, but through the expectations, rituals, fun and fights of an ordinary family.

We raised $700,000 in equity to make the film and are now inviting friends and supporters to help raise the remaining $250,000 to support post-production and the festival circuit through our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, Entertainment 2 Affect Change (E2AC), which has supported critically acclaimed films including Academy Award-winning Mr. Nobody Against Putin.

Donations of any amount are helpful and greatly appreciated.

Contributions of $5,000 or more receive a Special Thanks in the film’s credits.

You will receive a letter for your FULLY TAX-DEDUCTIBLE contribution.
