All donations are tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsor, Entertainment 2 Affect Change, and play a critical role in bringing this story to the screen.
The Rebellion of Jamaa Fanaka is a short documentary film exploring the life, legacy, and cultural impact of pioneering independent filmmaker Jamaa Fanaka, told through the lens of his granddaughter and director, Khadijah Fanaka.
Donations made through our fiscal sponsor will directly support the production and completion of the film. Funds raised will be used to cover essential production costs, including interview production (crew, equipment, and locations), archival research and licensing of film clips, photographs, and music, post-production expenses such as editing and sound design, and festival preparation and distribution costs.
This project is being produced as an independent short film to establish the foundation for a future feature-length documentary. Contributions will allow us to preserve an important but underrecognized chapter of American film history, support fair compensation for collaborators, and ensure the film meets professional standards for festival exhibition and public presentation.
