Black Obsidian Healing is a New Haven-based organization that creates healing spaces specifically for Black men. This July, we're hosting a 3-day retreat in Connecticut — facilitated sessions, bodywork, drumming, meditation, and deep community with other men doing the work of knowing themselves.
We believe cost should never be the reason a man can't show up for himself. So we're offering every seat at little to no cost to participants — and raising the funds to make that possible.
Here's what your gift does:
$900 sponsors one full seat. One man. Three days. A weekend that may change how he shows up for his family, his community, and himself — for the rest of his life.
$1,800 sponsors two seats — and sends a message that belonging shouldn't have a price tag.
Any amount helps. $5 $10 $50. $100. Whatever you can offer becomes part of building belonging.
Previous participants describe the retreat as "life changing," "the most honest space I've ever been in," and "something I didn't know I needed until I was there."
These men go home and show up differently — as fathers, as partners, as neighbors, as members of this community. That ripple is what your gift makes possible.
