Deliver Us - Final Phase

Black mothers in the United States are dying in childbirth at staggering rates, and in the midst of an ongoing national race reckoning, Black midwives around the country are fighting systemic racism, unjust legislation, and the hospital-industrial complex to save the lives of Black mothers and deliver the next generation.

Deliver Us follows midwives in Los Angeles, Gainesville, and Chicago as they navigate endless red tape, raise money for new birth centers, and innovate outreach and advocacy through social media. With hope as their driving force, they seek to reverse one of the nation's greatest injustices: the Black Maternal Mortality Crisis. California Health Care Foundation has invested meaningfully in the development of this film, and will be utilizing the completed film in various formats for a groundbreaking run of community impact screenings, educational and awareness building screenings, and legislative impact screenings beginning in Q4 of 2025.
