About this campaign
In each of our cities, our rabbis and community leaders are called on to address city council, speak at rallies and weigh in on legislation, all while also naming babies, officiating B’nei Mitzvah, and sitting shiva. Our synagogues are uniquely powerful because the work of building community and the work of collective action are not separate from one another: the relationships built through ritual, care, learning, and shared life become the foundation for moral courage and public action, while the struggle for a more just world gives deeper meaning and urgency to Jewish communal life itself.
At a moment when so much of institutional Jewish life is governed by fear; of political backlash, donor pressure, or moral risk-taking, our communities are helping build the courage and spiritual grounding needed to live our values publicly and collectively. Together we are publicly reclaiming a liberatory Judaism worthy of our children.
