A docuseries providing an intimate peek into the enduring legacy of one of America’s most prolific civil rights families: the Hopes.
About This Project
HOPE uncovers the lives of John Hope and Lugenia Burns Hope, the first Black President and First Lady of Morehouse College, and traces the extraordinary legacy they left across four generations.
Why Now
The realities of Black American history and the contributions made by its most influential leaders are increasingly under threat of being overlooked, distorted, or erased. Due to these threats, society's awareness of the Hope family's impact and influence on American history has sadly been lost to time. Now, more than ever, it is important to disclose it, it is essential to celebrate it, and the HOPE docuseries aims to preserve it.
