Dear Atara Community,
We’re writing with tremendous excitement and optimism about the future of our beloved Atara community.
Thanks to the energy, joy, and commitment each of you brings, Atara has grown and blossomed. We’re now piloting a new space that reflects that growth, and meets our evolving needs. It’s a major step forward — and it marks a new chapter where we all have the opportunity to invest in our community’s future.
Until now, we’ve been fortunate to rely on a rent-free space and outside support that covered our beloved kiddush and cholent. As we move into a larger rented space, we’ll be fully responsible for our own expenses for the first time - including space rental, insurance, kiddush, new ritual items, and both ongoing and expanded programming like Chessed and Tot Shabbat.
Campaign Goal: $45,000 and 125 Donors by August 24th
To sustain Atara this coming year, we need to raise $45,000 — and we’re inviting everyone to be part of it.
That’s about $360 per regular attendee — but we know everyone’s circumstances are different. What makes Atara special is the diversity of our community and the many ways people contribute.
We’re aiming for at least 125 people to donate, at any amount. Whether you give $50, $500,or $1,500— we are lucky to have each of you as part of our Atara family, and your participation sends a powerful message: “I’m part of building this community.”
We also welcome monthly contributions. For example, a $30/month donation = $10 per Atara gathering over the course of the year.
High Holidays
We’re excited to spend Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur together with our friends at Altshul.
For Atara regular community members, donations to this campaign of $250 or more will include a High Holiday ticket for one person (for both Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur), and $500 or more will include two tickets.
And as always: all community members are welcome at the High Holidays, regardless of ability to contribute financially. Individual tickets will also be available separately — we’ll share more info on that soon.
Thank You
Our community is made up of all of you – whether you join us for Friday night or Shabbat morning services, Atara runs in Prospect Park, or found a apartment or tailor through the We <3 Atara WhatsApp group.
Thank you for being part of this moment, and for investing in a community that’s growing not just in size —but in ruach (spirit), heart, and commitment to one another.
With appreciation and excitement for what’s ahead,
The Atara Team
